Bamboo and wood products need to be dried to kill insects and prevent wet materials from cracking, shrinking and being moth-eaten in the use environment. Traditional drying is nothing more than hot air kiln ( furnace ) drying for a long time. Both bamboo and wood have longitudinal fiber structure. In traditional heating, the transverse thermal conductivity of bamboo and wood wet materials is particularly poor. It takes a long time to meet the drying requirements inside, and it is due to the different fiber structure and texture. The heating is not uniform in all directions, and the material cracks, distorts and deforms during the drying process, and the rejection rate remains high. Secondly, when the moisture content of the material is reduced to less than 10 % by traditional heating, it is very difficult to further dry, and the drying method needs to be updated. By using the characteristics of microwave heating, bamboo and wood products can be dried by microwave to overcome the disadvantages of traditional heating drying. In addition, while microwave drying, microwave also has a strong killing effect on moths and eggs in bamboo and wood products. Therefore, the combination of microwave drying and insecticide is an ideal method.
